Priority research projects
The Cancéropôle Grand-Est is promoting 2 specific priority research axes:
- A structured research project on pancreatic cancer
- The promotion of crossborder scientific collaboration
The French National Cancer Institute and the Cancéropôles have defined a base of 7 common missions which cover their main actions. In addition they can support up to 2 actions within their territories, depending on the expertise available. The Cancéropôle Grand-Est decided to promote crossborder collaboration as a real strength and specificity of its territory. The second action centers on pancreatic cancer, which is becoming a major health problem with an increase of incidence over the years combined with a poor survival rate.
